| Short bio | Dr. Chen Ying is serving as a Research Assistant Professor at the School of Design at SUSTech. Dr. Chen obtained a Ph.D. in Structural Geology from Sun Yat-sen University and subsequently completed a three-year postdoctoral research experience there. Currently, Dr. Chen is the principal investigator for a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Fund project and is participating in two NSFC General Program projects. Additionally, Dr. Chen is a Fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) and holder of their Advanced Gemological Certification. Dr. Chen’s research interests include integrating computer and artificial intelligence with jewelry design, jewelry identification and appreciation, as well as the formation and geological processes of gemstones. |
